GRIHA training programme for Trainers and Evaluators, Nashik

Sustainability Initiatives was approached by MEDA, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency, Pune to assist them in organizing a GRIHA training programme for trainers and evaluators in Nashik. The programme was organised with the financial support of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, New Delhi and technical support of ADaRSH, Association for Development and Research on Sustainable Habitats, New Delhi. With this background, a 3-day hands-on training programme was organised on GRIHA,Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment, the National rating system for green buildings. The aim of this training programme was to impart training on the compliance, assessment & evaluation of all 31 criteria for buildings/ projects to be rated under GRIHA and to help enhance knowledge on Green Buildings. An examination to get certified as GRIHA evaluator and/or trainer was also conducted as a part of the workshop. Expert trainers from GRIHA, TERI and Sustainability Initiatives, Ar Apoorv Vij, Ar Anagha Paranjape-Purohit, Ar Poorva Keskar, Ar Pranati Shroff, Ar Hrishikesh Kolhatkar, Mr Shirish Deshpande, Dr S Rajkumar, were the faculty for this workshop. An examination, to get certified as GRIHA Evaluator and/or Trainer was conducted.
Forty two participants registered for the 3-day GRIHA training programme for trainers and evaluators. In addition, seven professionals also appeared for the evaluators and trainers examination. The participants included architecture students, professionals from fields of Architecture & Engineering, Green building consultants, etc.
