A grand tree plantation drive was held at Sanjivan Van Udyan in Kothrud. The event was jointly organized by Maha NGO Federation, Sustainability Initiatives, V.K. Group, and Care Foundation. Representatives from as many as 200 volunteers participated in this initiative and collectively planted 500 indigenous trees.

The plantation included local and native tree species. Notably, the event witnessed participation from mentally challenged individuals, orphans, senior citizens, youth, and tribal community members, thus presenting a commendable example of social inclusion and environmental commitment.

The entire initiative was planned and coordinated by Amol Umbarje, Meghana Pingle, and Mayur Waregaonkar. Post plantation, the Care Foundation will maintain of the trees.

Under the guidance of founder Shekhar Mundada and trustee Apoorva Kulkarni, Maha NGO Federation and Sustainability Initiatives regularly bring together various organizations to conduct such tree plantation drives every year.

Major participating organizations included V.K. Group, IGBC Pune Chapter, Brick School of Architecture, Navkshitij, FSAI, Mamta Foundation, ISHRAE Pune Chapter, Ravindra Jadhav Global Foundation, Rostrum India Social Organization, Ginsport, Resilient, Ginombio, and Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture. All these organizations actively contributed towards environmental conservation while fulfilling their social responsibility.

The event concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants. The joy of having dug the pits and planted the trees themselves was clearly visible on the faces of the participants.
