On 11 July 2026, Sustainability Initiatives, in collaboration with the Bhamburda Forest Department and Maha NGO Federation, organized a large-scale tree plantation drive at ARAI Hill (Vetal Hill), Kothrud, Pune. The initiative brought together over 340 volunteers, including students, NGO representatives, professionals, and citizens from diverse backgrounds.

A total of 3,000 native tree saplings were planted using the Miyawaki plantation method, contributing to the restoration of Pune’s urban green cover. The Bhamburda Forest Department provided technical guidance and site preparation, ensuring the successful implementation of the plantation.

The drive was marked by enthusiastic participation from children, youth, senior citizens, tribal communities, and differently-abled individuals, highlighting the importance of collective action and social inclusion in environmental conservation.

The initiative was supported by several educational institutions, corporate organizations, and social groups, reflecting a shared commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future for Pune. Sustainability Initiatives remains committed to organizing such collaborative environmental programmes that encourage community participation and long-term ecological restoration.
