What we do
Sustainability Initiatives is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Pune. It was initiated 10 years ago by a group of like-minded professionals from varied domains of Urban and Environmental Planning, Architecture, Environmental Science, Geography, and Energy. With this shared passion for Sustainable development, and an urge to make a change towards better cities, these individuals came together to work towards the common goal of Sustainability in cities.
Sustainability Initiatives was thus conceived with the objective of creating a strong network of researchers, academicians, and professionals who could help develop meaningful research in the environment and energy sectors that could further be applied towards resilient city planning.
Our Promise
At Sustainability Initiative, we have taken a pledge to uphold the objective of Sustainability in all our endeavours. With an increasing threat to our natural resources and a pressing need for alternative ways of advancing, we shall strive to innovate and invent significant solutions for Sustainable Development in all realms.
Our Approach
Our journey towards achieving Sustainability must incorporate scientific knowledge that borrows from the regional context and traditional Indian knowledge systems. Only then will the way forward be universal yet contextual. Every project must create effective conversations with the past, present, and future. The journey towards Sustainable Development is a collective approach, where democratic participation of communities in tandem with the government is an absolute must. Lastly, no decision, policy, or action can be sustainable and holistic without collaboration.
