Launch of the book ‘Saffron Swords’ by Manoshi Sinha Rawal was hosted by Sustainability Initiatives in association with INDIC, Pune on 3rd of August 2019. The launch was followed by reading of a few excerpts from the book by the author Ms. Manoshi Sinha Rawal, followed by a discussion moderated by Ms. Shefali Vaidya of INDIC. The book highlights stories of resistance by Indic warriors against foreign invaders. An interesting discussion followed about how these stories of resistance are ignored in the popular narrative of Indian history and not taught in the history textbooks leading to a skewed view of Indian history. Our trustee Ms. Anagha Paranjape-Purohit presented a vote of thanks to the author and the members of INDIC for the interesting and thought provoking event.
